YVETTE MOSES

Chairperson

An ordained minister of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa in her 31st year of ministry holds a Masters Degree in Theology from Stellenbosch University. She has served as a Community Development Project Board chair in Beaufort West. Presently she is the Bishop of the Cape of Good Hope Synod. She is married to Stafford and has two adult daughters, Melanie and Bethany.

FRED JENKINGS

Treasurer

45 years' financial experience in JSE-listed companies. Formerly CFO of Paramount Property Fund and Tower Property Fund. He is currently Director of Ovland Management Services, an accounting, tax and secretarial service provider.

VATISWA MAKIE

Board Member

Currently employed as a Deputy Director Nursing Education & Training in the Western Cape Department of Health. She brings to the Board a strong background in the provision of health care and delivery of health services within the public sector. She is the Wellness Co-ordinator of the Cape of Good Hope District of The Methodist Church of Southern Africa.

TERTIUS VAN ZYL

Board Member

A Senior Architectural Technologist. He finished his a BTech Degree at CPUT in 2005. After 8 years of experience in the industry he established his own business and is currently in practice with his wife, Natalie. They have 2 young daughters and live in Observatory.

PHUMLA SATYO

Board Member

Retired teacher, head of the English department, Deputy Chief Education Specialist for English, and Director for Curriculum Studies: FET. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Methodist Women’s Manyano in the Dumisani circuit. She is the Education Desk Co-ordinator of the Cape of Good Hope District.

LESELY MOSTERT

Board Member

Marsh Homes forms a significant part of Lesley’s childhood as a “manse child”. She now brings to the board a background in Chemical Engineering, experience working across cultures with churches in Thailand, time as the South African National Director of an international mission organisation, and current work in research writing and curation.

LYNELL MASSEY

Board Member

Is a retired Educator with experience in Primary and Adult Education. She currently represents the Cape of Good Hope Women's Auxiliary Synod President.

EUGENE BRETTENNY

Board Member

Eugene is an independent Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) Regional Manager - Training
Division for Plastics|SA Western Cape and Port Elizabeth.
He focuses on the upskilling of plastics and manufacturing industry workforces and assists
with aligning companies with grant funding and other training funding offered by Government
and other institutions. He is a registered Assessor and Moderator with the MerSETA and is
a Principal Member of the MerSETA Regional Committee Western Cape.
Representing Plastics|SA, he is also currently involved with the formation of the SMME
Industry Council, which will focus on the National Small Business Act (1996) and be the
representative voice of Small Business in South Africa.
Previously, he was the National Training Manager for Master Currency Foreign Exchange
for 10 years. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies from the University of Cape
Town since 1992.
He is passionate about skills development being available to everyone, is an avid reader
and has a strong affinity for animals.

SHIREY LOWNDES

Minute Secretary

Born into a Methodist family. Educated in Gauteng and then trained as a teacher in Cape Town. One of the schools she taught at was Marsh Memorial Homes School. She was also secretary at Rosebank Methodist.

KEVIN NEEDHAM

Principal

An ordained minister of the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and a registered Social Worker with a degree in Social Work from Wits. Has served on various NPO management committees while ministering to the Methodist people in Rosebank, Wynberg and Bergvleit.
